There are reputable BIG online brands out there, personal brands like Boss Babe Inc. that simply stand out. They know that it’s the only way to be seen and heard. But how do you go about showing up BIG in your brand? Who doesn’t want celebrity status online? It brings in more trust, more likeability, and more sales!
Well, since this is my specific niche market in my own coaching biz, I thought I’d put together a list of what you need in place in order to show up like the celebrity boss babe you are!
I struggled with this for so long. I wanted to be seen as an expert in my market and worked tirelessly to learn all the ways. About 5-6 years ago I started an online brand in nutrition and wellness. Out of that brand, I created an online weight loss challenge and it was amazing. Although I learned so much about what it takes to get noticed online, what doesn’t work and what it takes for those sales to start flowing in.
Here’s my go-to list for showing up BIG online.
Your branding needs to be on point. Without having a clear brand, it’s tough for your audience to connect with you in the way you’d like them to. Consistent branding throughout your social media handles and website is essential to a cohesive look and feel of your brand. Everything from the font, images, to colours should be reflective of what you do, your vibe and who will be attracted to it. They really should get a feel for who you are and what you’re about. They may not know it yet, but your branding is what brings them closer to you. And they’re only a click away.
2. You have to know who your target market is.
I”m sure you’ve heard this a million times before but it’s the truth. It’s all about being crystal clear on who you’re able to help. I mean, you have to narrow it down BIG time. If you’re offering a course that’s $6k and your target market is broke….you might want to rethink who that market really is!
Know who they are, what they need and are looking for. A great place to start is with YOU. What have your struggles been? What have you had to overcome and how much easier would it be with your product or service? Knowing what your customer wants is the most important question that should be answered in everything you do for your biz and brand. Always give them more of what they want and need.
3. Speak their language.
Once you know what they want, who they are and how you can help them, then you’ve got to start speaking their language. What phrases and words do they use? What will resonate with them? How do they talk? Give them what they think they want and then deliver what they really need.
Use this in your posts and ads and they will see you and hear you! Magic!
4. Make sure your social handles are handled.
If you haven’t properly set up your Instagram and Facebook fan pages, then make sure you do. Your social handles are a direct reflection of who you are and how you’re showing up online including your website. People will look you up to see just how big you are. If your website isn’t up to date and you haven’t posted in your social media, they may think you’re out of business! We don’t want that. Your Instagram should be set up as a business account (there are just more features), you should be posting regularly (especially in stories), and your Facebook fan page should be up to date as well. Social media is how you bring them into your world, your thoughts and vibe. They really get to know you more and that’s what you want.
5. Boost away!
There is a tonne of opinions on boosting posts, visibility, and algorithms. To keep it simple when you boost, you pay to play, yes, but you’ll be seen more. You’re also seen as a pro if you set it all up right.
Have images that capture attention! They don’t have to be picture perfect either. They just have to tell a story (if they’re not a professional pic). Try using your marketing budget on 3 different ads for the same thing. You may want to boost a few blog posts first or powerful posts. This gives them insight into who you are and by the time you boost a post to like your page, they are more apt to do so. Then when you boost a free course or talk, they’re excited to learn more from you! Make sure at some point you’re using a CTA (call to action) to get them on your email list. Because that’s where they can be sure to be on top of all things YOU.
So don’t be afraid to boost posts, just make sure when you do, you target your market based on not just their location but their interests too! What magazines do they read? What groups would they be a part of? Who do they follow as mentors? Tag those things! Now you’re really narrowing down your audience and will be sure that they will see you more!
I know this whole process can be scary, but I promise you it’s worth it. When you have a message to share with the world, the impact will be far greater than your fear will take you….which is nowhere.
I believe in you Lady Boss, and look forward to seeing you reach for the stars!
