What do you think of when you think of the word intuition? Does it make you think of psychic abilities? Gut feelings? I think it’s a bit of both and even more. When I think of intuition, it’s your higher self, your inner guide that doesn’t know fear, or doubt… only the truth of who you really are. When I was able to hear the voice of my intuition, my world opened up in a way I never thought possible.

Dictionary definition of intuition: Cambridge dictionary says “an ability to understand or know something immediately based on your feelings rather than facts: Often there’s no clear evidence one way or the other and you just have to base your judgment on intuition.”

Psychology Today defines intuition as “Intuition is a process that gives us the ability to know something directly without analytic reasoning, bridging the gap between the conscious and nonconscious parts of our mind, and also between instinct and reason. In essence, we need both instinct and reason to make the best possible decisions.

Interesting! Intuition gives us the ability to know something directly without analytic reasoning. A connection between our subconscious and conscious mind. Our intuition bridges the gap. With all the noise, all the stress and anxiety, depression, the load of life weighing so heavily on all of us… how do we access the truth of who we truly are and what we already know? It’s like accessing knowledge from another dimension! The only ways to do that is to connect within.

Meditation.

I started meditating from a young age, and have found this to help me calm my mind and hear my angels and guides. For a long time though, I couldn’t hear a damn thing! My mind, expectation, and Ego made sure that I was following a part of me that kept me feeling unfulfilled and empty. Constantly hungry for more and never happy. Ever felt that way?

When I was newer to network marketing and online business, it threw me for a loop! I wanted success so badly that I could taste it. But after many trials and tribulations, my intuition started to guide me. It takes being broken down. It takes surrendering to a power greater than yourself. It takes feeling so lost and so broken that there’s no other choice. I started to meditate again and found it was right there waiting for me. It had been there all along. Now I teach people to meditate with ease by using their imagination to take them on a journey.

Try meditating by being in a place in your mind that is your “happy place”. A place that is calm and serene, where there is no trouble or despair. Allow your feelings to be calm and relaxed. When we can calm our mind and feel what comes up, the messages are clear. Allow yourself to be guided in the imagination process and be a witness to who speaks to you, what they say and the thoughts that come up while you’re in this process. Firstly noticing whether fear (Ego)  is louder will be the first step to getting clarity of thought and notice which process you’re functioning in. Fear or love?

Love is trusting your process, feeling confirmation and guidance that feels good. Inspiration hits you over the head, brings you ideas, keeps you dreaming big!

Fear turns your mind into a squirrel! Bringing in every scenario that could go wrong, each and every reason why you’ve failed and why you should stay right where you are. It won’t lead you anywhere good and certainly doesn’t feel right.

It’s always about how you feel. Be in the feeling of any emotion and you’ll attract it right away.

Play the “first thing” game.

Whenever I want an answer from my inner guide, I ask a question and the first thing that comes to mind before my head starts chiming in (where I can never figure things out and it gets too noisy) is the truth. We usually tend to second guess and question what comes out, but it’s usually the truth plain and simple.

When you want an answer to something that’s challenging you or making your question your judgment, have a friend ask the question and see what comes to mind first. It may come to your mind before you can say it, but make sure you trust what the answer is! Trusting your “gut” or your intuition will always lead you right, but you have to trust. Also, make sure you’re feeling calm and steady. When fear is playing a large part, it’s tough to hear our intuition.

Be lead with where you’re being drawn to. Trust, trust, trust.

Free Write.

If you’ve ever done this, you know it’s the voice of truth that speaks through. Your intuition really flows when your mind is clear. After a meditation, one of the best things to do is grab a journal and write out what your higher self wants you to know.

If you have a question or need guidance on an issue, grab a journal and write yourself a letter. Allow the thoughts to flow out of you in the voice of assistance and truth. Try not to second guess what comes out. Just write and write until there is no more to write or until your inspiration to write stops. The most magical messages come through in this process! It will always ring true and feel good when you read it!

 

These techniques are things I do almost daily to hear the voice of my truth.

I constantly deal with anxiety and fear can really nudge its way into the best of times, so when I need to get clear about where I’m supposed to be, I tap into my intuition.  When my head and heart can’t settle, my intuition knows better. One of the best ways I’m able to use my intuition is with angel cards. It leads me to what I need to do and how to do it.

Afterall, when we are relying on our own strength, we are weary but when we can rely on a strength bigger than ourselves we are powerful once again!
